Foothill Preps Football Polls

Week One of the high school football season is in the books so it must be time for foothillpreps.com to begin its weekly area football top five ratings for area JV and Frosh teams.

Here’s this week’s polls:

JV

  1. Del Oro (1-0) – Although Foresthill – Del Oro’s first game foe that DO defeated 40-0 attempting just one pass - won’t be confused with Long Beach Poly, the Golden Eagles are a talented bunch.

2.Bear River (1-0) Forget that the Bruins’ top soph quarterback is at the varsity level. 1-2 rushing punch of Josh Toft and Trevor McGee will be tough on foes.

          3. Colfax (1-0) – Falcons “spread” their wings in new head coach Jason Stowers’ debut.

4..Placer (1-0) – Hillmen looked good in opening 37-12 romp over Rosemont.

        5. Nevada Union (0-1) – Miners found out early they won’t be able to rest on frosh laurels.

Frosh

  • 1. Nevada Union (1-0) – Miners unleashed plenty of weapons in 28-12 win over Ponderosa.

  • 2. Placer (1-0) – Pop Warner All American running back Michael Robinson sparkled in Hillmen’s 34-0 romp over East Nicolaus.

  • 3. Del Oro (1-0) – After bopping Antelope in opener, Golden Eagles take step up in Granite Bay Thursday.

  • 4. Colfax (0-1) – Falcons lacked offense in 6-0 loss to Mesa Verde.

*5.  Bear River (0-0) - Bruins couldn't get schedule right.
