Lady Raiders Rally For Tourney Crown

After taking championship honors at the Bearcat Union Hill Tournament last month, the Lady Raiders rallied to do it again.

The Seven Hills 8th grade Lady Raiders began the Nevada County Volleyball Tournament seeded third as they played out their games during the Friday and Saturday tournament.

The Lady Raider's faced tough opponents through their wins over Union Hill, Forest Lake, Weimar and Magnolia.

In the Championship game, the Lady Raiders faced the previously unbeaten, first seed Lymone Gilmore Bombers. Both teams had begun the tournament at a deficit with key players having prior commitments.

The Bombers easily took the first game, but the Lady Raiders regrouped to take the second game Win. This brought on the decisive 15-point, third game to determine the championship.

With the Bombers one point away from the championship title at 14-11, the Lady Raiders served, dug and saved their way to a 16-14 win over the Bombers. Great job to all the participating teams and congratulations Lady Raiders.
