Dist. 11 TOC Opens Friday Night At BRLL
The brackets are set for District 11 Little League major division Tournament of Champions which will open at two sites this Friday night.
Locally, Area II action gets underway with a doubleheader Friday night at the Bear River Little League Complex.
Meanwhile, the Area I tournament will begin on Monday with those games being contested at Beggs Field in Auburn.
The Area II bracket at Bear River will have a total of 11 teams from six different leagues tossing their hats into single elimination type format tournament.
Whichever two teams survive their respective area battles will then lock up in a best of three district championship series June 27-29 with Game One set for Bear River; Game Two at Auburn and a Game Three, if necessary, set back at Bear Rive on June 29.
In Friday’s Area II opening action, at 5 p.m. the Penn Valley Nationals, PVLL’s A team, will test the Nevada City Dodgers, the NCLL’s B team.
The second game at 7:30 p.m. will match Nevada City’s A team, the Indians, against the Braves, the Sierra Foothills LL’s B team.
First round game continue at BRLL on Saturday with the A’s, Grass Valley’s A team taking on the Penn Valley Dodgers, the PVLL B team at 5 p.m..
The second game Saturday at 7:30 p.m. matches the Foresthill A’s and the Grass Valley Angels. The A’s are Foresthill’s lone major division team while the Angels are the GVLL B team.
On Monday, the final first round game will be contested at 5 p.m. when the Sierra Foothills’ Rangers, the league’s A team, takes on the Bear River Yankees, the BRLL B squad.
