Area JVs, Frosh Open Grid Seasons Friday

Football 2011 gets up and running Friday night for several foothills area frosh and JV grid squads who will be taking advantage of zero week to kick off their seasons.

In Reno, Nevada Union's Miners will play as part of a tripleheader at McQueen High. The Frosh will kickoff at 3 p.m. followed by the JVs at 5:30p.m.

At Colfax, the Falcons will be at home Friday against El Camino. The freshman will meet the visiting Eagles at 3:30 p.m. followed by the JV test at 5:30 p.m.

Bear River's Bruins will be on the road Friday as the Frosh play at Cordova starting at 3:30 p.m.followed by the Bruins and Lancers JVs at 5:30p.m.

At Placer in Auburn, the Hillmen frosh will host DelOro at 5:30 p.m. while the Placer JVs will be on the road to Modesto where they will meet Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m.

Del Oro's JVs, meanwhile, kick off their campaign by hosting Spanish Springs of Sparks, Nevada at 5:30 p.m.in Loomis.
