A’s, Storms Look To Stay Alive In Bear River Minor Tournament

IIt will be survival of the fittest tonight at the Bear River Little League Complex as the A’s and Storm square off in the loser’s bracket finals of the BRLL’s Minor Division Tournament.

The A’s and Storms will meet at 6 p.m. with the winner earning a berth in the championship game against the White Sox. That game is slated for 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The A’s and Storms will be meeting for the second time in the tournament. In Monday night’s second round action, the Storms upended the regular season champion A’s by a 14-11 count.

The upset was one of two on the day as the second place Dodgers were downed 10-6 by the White Sox. The White Sox then defeated the Storms, 11-7, in the winner’s bracket semi-finals on Wednesday night.

The A’s have bounced back nicely since their opening loss as the regular season leaders defeated the Mudcats on Tuesday and then followed with a 16-11 win over the Diamondbacks.

If tonight’s A’s-Storm survivor can upend the White Sox on Saturday, a second “if necessary” game would be played on Tuesday, June 17 at 6 p.m. to decide the title.
