April 6, 2011 BR A's Off And Running The Bear River A's major division baseball squad is out of the starting gates with a good start to the District 11 Little League interlock schedule. In a game on Monday night, the A's waxed the Penn Valley Mets, 14-3. Pitching for the winning A's was Brad Dzioba and Tanner Clapper who combined to scatter five hits and fan nine batters. At the plate, Trace Anderson was 2x2 with three RBIs and had the game ending walk-off hit to invoke the 10-run mercy rule. Ben Spin also was 2x2 with a double and a RBI. Also factoring in the win were Seth Robinson (1x1, RBI), Jaden Gravatt (1x1), Harry Zea (1x1) , Justin Dooley (SF, RBI) and Noah Gravatt (SF, RBI). In an earlier tilt, Jaden Gravatt's walk-off single proved to be the difference in a 5-4 extra iinning verdict over the Bear River Giants. Justin Dooley's big triple in a 2x3 night also sparkled for the A's while Seth Robinson was 1x1. On defense, Trace Anderson had several fine diving grabs while Harry Zea was strong at catcer behind the plate.
