Bear River A’s Topple PV Giants

Bear River’s A’s broke into the District 11 majors division win column by nosing past the Penn Valley Giants, 12-10.

Clutch hitting and solid defense proved to be a vital factor in the win for the Dodgers in the tight battle which saw the Giants overcome some early injuries to fight to the finish.

A late game rally by the A’s finally forged the team past the Giants for the win. Top hitters for the winners included R.J. Rogers who lashed a double among two hits and two runs driven in; Tony Piziali who was 2x3 with a triple and two RBIs and Austin Tague who was 2x2 with a triple and two more RBIs.

Also adding big hits for the A’s were Bradley Dzobia with a two-run triple, Griffin Frank with a 2x2 night with a two-bagger and Trace Anderson, Drew Cramer, Seth Robinson and Brandon Murphy, all with one rap apiece.

In the pitching department, Drew Cramer went two strong innings and gave up just one run. Providing strong relief help was R.J. Rogers with five whiffs, Trace Anderson with one K and Dzobia and Murphy topping it off.
