June 1, 2010 BR Dodgers Extend Win Streak To 14 The Bear River Affordable Real Estate Dodgers are still rolling. Last week the Dodgers hit the road to face the Grass Valley Cubs and the Bear River Little League team returned home with a lopsided 15-1 victory. The win was the 14th straight on the season for the major division Dodgers. The Dodgers showed up early and fast as the first six batters reached thebase path. Hits from Justus Stratton, Tony Bianchi, Ryan Wagner and ShaneAnderson gave the Dodgers a four run advantage moving to the second half of the first frame. Wagner took the hill for the Dodgers and held the Cubs bats incheck to end the first inning. Bear River then came outstrong again in the second stanza as they sent 12 batters to the plate and scored eight more times. David O'Brien, and Stratton started off the big inning with hits and Tony"T-Man" Bianchi found the netting in deep left center with a 3 run home run. Caden McGowen and Wagner then found themselves on the base paths and before Shane "Wog" Anderson used air mail sending the ball over right center fence with another three-run blast. Justin Dooley and Mathew Chapdelaine each also found hits in theinning. The Dodgers shut down the Cubs in the bottom of the second to hold a 12-0 lead going into the 3rd. Due to the ensuing anticipated three game week Wagner was removed after 1 2/3's and O’Brien found his role on the mound for 20 pitches In the third the Dodgers once again set the stage with their first three battersas walks by Quincy Schram and O’Brien set the stage for a Justus Stratton 3-run round tripper over the center field fence. In the 3rd inning, Tony Bianchi took the ball from O'Brien for his 20 pitch outing. The Cubs found a run in the third on a past ball to make the game a 15-1 final. Wog Anderson found himself as the closer to end the game.The Dodgers hill gang allowed 2 hits with 8 strikeouts allowing 0 earned runs. Anderson was the 9th player to find himself on the mound for the Dodgers this year as the Dodgers extended their season to 14-0.
