Bear River Dodgers overpower GV Angels

The Bear River Dodgers major division baseball squad raised its early season record to 2-0 as they notched a District 11 interlock 14-2 road win over the Grass Valley Angels, 14-2.

The Dodgers jumped out with three runs in each of the first three inningsand then added five more runs in the fourth.

The Angels scored a run in the first with an RBI double from Arron  Fleenor scoring Good who led off the game with a single

Fleenor also scored the only other Angels run in the fourth inning from a past ball. David O'Brien, Justus Stratton, Tony Bianchi, and Caden McGowen all had two hits in the game to led the Dodger.

McGowen and Stratton each had fence clearing homeruns for the Dodgers. Meanwhile, Bianchi's two hits were doubles and O'Brien added a triple.

Other hitters for the Dodgers included Ryan Wagner and Keaton "Hollywood" Kirby with singles. On the mound for the winners, the duo of Caden "K-Den" McGowen and David O'Brien kept the Angels’ bats quiet.

McGowen faced 12 batters on the night in 3 innings allowing 3 hits and recording 8 strike outs with a walk. O'Brien closed the game in the fourth with two strike outs.

The Dodgers had opened their season by defeating the Bear River Pirates 4-3 in a nail bitter last Thursday. The Dodgers square off againstthe Bear River A's on Saturday afternoon at Bear River Sports Complex at noon.
