It's A Perfect '10" For Bruins JVs

In a football season where "up" could used describe the overall field of junior varsity football teams in the foothills area, the Bear River Bruins JV team was among the best.

The Bruins capped a perfect, undefeated 10-0 season on Nov. 13 with a rousing 41-16 victory over El Dorado on the road in Placerville.

The win gave the Bruins the outright Pioneer Valley League championship with a record of 6-0.

In thge win, halfback Josh Toft tallied the game's first touchdown with a 15-yard run before teammate Trevor McGee added the next two on respective jaunts of 33 and nine yards. McGee completed the game with 63 yards ruhsing in the win.

In the second half, Bruin quarterback Dallen Huetter fired a 62-yard scoring pass to Brandon Wooner. Huetter ended the evening by hitting on 7 of 13 passes for 152 yards.

The Bear River scoring was completed by Jimmy Bamburg on an 11-yard yard run and on a short run from Stephen Buschmann.
