Bear River Astros whitewash Dodgers, 11-0

Strong mound work by Brett Soloman helped lift the Bear River Astros roll to an 11-0 whitewashing of the Bear River Dodgers in District 11 major division baseball play.

Soloman was on the top of his game as he fired a route-going one-hitter over six innings. He fanned eight batters and didn’t walk a Dodger.

Soloman also aided his own cause at the plate as he went 2x3 with a double.

Bear Belding had the big early blast for the winners as he stroked a three-run bases loaded double which staked the Astros to an early 3-0 lead. Belding finished the game with four runs batted in.

Kyle Soria also sparkled for the Astros with four more RBIs including a pair which came home on a triple. Matt Lopez added a double and Robbie Hildebrand and Jared Kilgore each added hits for the Astros.

Top defensive play of the game was turned in by Matt Lopez at second base.
