Chicago Park blazes to title; Eagles third

Chicago Park's Trail Blazers followed an 18-point scoring effort from Elliott Fournier and other key offense from Matty Paruszkiewicz and Steven Thompson to turn back Yuba River Charter 32-23 in the championship game of the Nevada County Athletic League's small school boys basketball tournament last weekend at Nevada Union.

Chicago Park, the resular season champion, defeated Mt. St. Mary's, 44-43, in a nip and tuck semi-final game.

St. Mary's, meanwhile, bounced back from its tough loss to trip up Cornerstone Christian, 31-20, in the third place game.

Ben Anderson, Ben Kaput, Michael Buonarti and Hannah Liserra all had good all-around outings for the Eagles in the win.
