Eagles, Miners Still On Top

Form held true at the top of the foothillpreps.com's weekly football rankings as Del Oro's JV team and Nevada Union's frosh held status quo for their respective No. 1 positions.

IIn the JV ratings, Del Oro improved to 4-0 with a convincing 42-10 win over a good Oak Ridge squad last Friday.  This week the Golden Eagles play at Oakmont in their final tune-up before the start of Sierra Foothill League play on Oct. 6.

Meanwhile, in the frosh poll, NU showedno ill effects from a "bye" on its schedule by traveling to Chico and handing the host Panthers a 25-14 drubbing.

Here's this week's poll

JV

1.Del Oro (4-0) - Golden Eagles look to have no weaknesses.

2.Nevada Union (3-1) - Miners rallied for late come from behind win at Chico.

3.Bear River (4-0) - BR's 25-game win streak on line Friday against undefeated River Valley squad.

4.Colfax (2-1) - Falcons sloppy in 14-7 loss to Inderkum.

5.Placer (0-3) - Hillmen should get well Friday versus Woodland.

Frosh

1.Nevada Union (3-0) - Miners have TD machine in Mo Nieves.

2.Colfax (3-0) - Falcons will be tested Thursday at Davis.

3.Bear River (3-1) - BR outlasted Woodcreek, 25-20 last week.

4.Placer (1-2) - Casa outscored Hillmen, 42-14.

5.Del Oro (0-4) - Golden Eagles looking for 1st win at Oakmont.
