Big First Frame Uprising Ignites Rays In Finale

The Bear River Rays came out swinging in their District 11 Little League major division regular season finale last week with the Grass Valley Giants.

Belting two home runs and parading 11 batters to the plate, the Rays jumped off to a big 7-0 lead after one inning and never looked back in an 11-1 pasting of the hosts at Condon Park.

Kyle Soria’s solo shot and a two-run blast by Matt Lopez helped uplift the Rays to their big first frame offensive explosion.

Also delivering big rips for the Rays were Chris Lopez two run double in the

Second inning and a two run two-bagger from Tyler Toft in the fourth.

Chris Lopez, Mac Slane and Donald Brennan all had two hits apiece for the winners while Soria and Justin Brown split the six innings of mound work and teamed to allow just three hits and fan 12 batters.

The Rays finished the season in third place in the final BRLL standings with a very good 14-7 mark.
