Hillmen, NU battle in Frosh showdown

 

No. 2 Placer hosts No. 1 Nevada Union Thursday in Auburn in an attractive non-league frosh football game. Both teams are 5-0 on the season.

At the JV level, No. 1 ranked Del Oro risks its undefeated mark when it hosts Granite Bay Friday in the Sierra Foothill League opener for both schools.

  1. Del Oro (5-0) – Golden Eagles opened up passing game last week.

      2. Bear River (5-0) – Bruins scored “ho-hum” win over Lindhurst.

      3. Placer  (5-0) – Hillmen getting healthy for big games coming up.

      4.Colfax (4-1) – Win over Whitney shows Falcons still dangerous.

      5.Nevada Union (3-2) – Miners open DVL play with Valley.

 

Frosh

 

  • 1. Nevada Union (5-0) – Miners play at Placer without two key starters.

 

  • 2. Placer (5-0) – Pop Warner lore has Hillman Michael Robinson scoring eight TDS vs. Jr. Miners a year ago.

 

  • 3.Del Oro (4-1) – Golden Eagles get to try and avenge lone loss Thursday vs. Granite Bay.
  • 4. Colfax (2-3) – Falcons get return shot at Mesa Verde.

 

           5. Bear River (1-3) – Flu bug hit BR in 19-6 loss at River Valley.
