Gilmore Tops Weimar For 7th Grade Title

In a pair of exciting matches, Gilmore's 7th grade girls volleyball team turned back Weimar Hills twice to win the Nevada County Athletic League's post season tournament.

Coached by Kim Evans, the Bombers outlasted Weimar Hills in an exciting 26-28, 25-23, 15-13 three-game pool play marathon win.

The Bombers then defeated Union Hill and Magnolia in bracket matches before turning back Weimar Hills again in the finals, 25-20, 25-21.

Evans cited the all-around efforts of Amanda Roberts, Delaney Smith, Carly Sanchez and Kristina Cena as key components to the Bombers' title winning play.

Gilmore posted a fine record of 16-1 this season.
