Bear River A's Top GV Giants, 2-0

Bear River’s A’s continued on the win trail Monday by fashioning a 2-0 win over the Grass Valley Giants in a District 11 Little League major division contest.

The A’s received exceptional pitching from the tandem of Mikey Rubio and Bradley Dzioba to highlight the win. Rubio worked the first two and two-thirds innings and gave up just one hit while fanning six before Dzobia continued the fine mound outing by hurling the last three and a third innings and scattering three hits while also fanning six.

Also having a hand in the win was the fine defensive wotk of Harry Zea at catcher, Tanner Clapper and Justin Dooley in the infield and David Ferrell in left field.

Supplying the long ball and accounting for the game’s lone two runs was Trace Anderson who connected on a two-run home run. Austin Tague added a double while Seth Robinson and Justin Dooley were both 1x2.

Sierra Foothills Little League Roundup

The Sierra Foothills Little League Jr. Diamondbacks downed the Grass Valley Yankees, 15-8, in recent District 11 Junior division interlock action.

The pitching chores for the Diamondbacks was handled by Ryan Robles, Alexander Nevarez and Justin Boice before closer Matt Hinrichs came in to seal the win.

Sparking the offense was Taylor Jay Juchau who had some nifty base running in the contest.

In other SFLL Junior action, the Rangers held on for an exciting 8-7 win over Foresthill. Nate Ciaradella drove in the winning run while Anthony Ahrens was the winning pitcher.

Majors

The Rangers remained in the hunt for a TOC berth as they followed two “out of the park” home runs by Mason Hurst in a 12-1 walloping of the Giants. Ben Tatenall had a drive off the top of the fence for the Giants.

Minors

The Giants stayed alive for a TOC minor division berth with a win over the Brewers. Louis Fudge and Connor Castorina both belted home runs for the winners while Connor Vrooman, Martin Lara and Dominik Hofeinz all added doubles.
