Benito Lozada gets set to take a cut in action from the Penn Valley Giants' 5-2 win over the Sierra Foothills' Reds. Lozada contributed a RBI single in the Giants' win.

 

No-Hitter For PV Jr. Giants’ Cook

Jared Cook fired a no-hitter Thursday in District 11 Little League junior division action to lead the Penn Valley Giants past the Sierra Foothills Reds of Colfax, 5-2.

Cook's fine mound performance was highlighted by a 12 strikeout effort. He walked just one and allowed no earned runs.

Supplying the punch at the plate were Tanner Vallejo who crashed a grand slam home run and Benito Lozada with a RBI single.

Also hitting safely in the contest for the Giants were Alex Voboril, Andrew Hedger and Jakob Freelee.

 

Bear River A’s 8  Grass Valley Orioles 6 – Strong efforts from the bullpen helped boost the Bear River A’s past the Orioles in a District 11 majors division game.

Dayton Anderson was the mainstay on the mound for the A’s as he tossed four standout innings allowing just two hits, one run and fanning nine batters.

However, relief hurlers Hunter Cramer (2 Ks) and Luke Burtt (2 Ks) came in to preserve the win with good showings.

Cramer was also perfect at the plate with a 2x2 game which included a RBI double. Burtt and Drew Cramer also added RBI hits.

Also hitting for the winners were Sean Mikan, Anthony Reiss and Landon Tucker.

Bear River Dodgers 12  Grass Valley Giants 2 – The Affordable Real Estate Dodgers improved to 3-1-1 with a 12-2 victory over the Grass Valley Giants in District 11 Little League major division action Thursday night at Condon Park.

Dodgers hurlers allowed just two hits in the win as Dallas Penn led the way pitching firing 3 2/3 strong innings for the win.

At the plate, the Dodgers bats were led by Michael "Scooch" Scudero, Tony Bianchi and Wyatt Mitzel all going 2 for 3.

Mitzel's effort included a two-run home run while Caden McGowen and Shane Anderson both added doubles. The Giants picked up two hits from David Menary including a first inning double.
