Colfax's JV defense converges on Davis' quarterback in recent Falcons' action. Colfax posted a 31-7 win over the Blue Devils and after then defeated Wheatland last week. The Falcons will open Pioneer Valley League play at Center on Friday. The Falcons JVs' are 4-1 on the season. Oct. 6, 2011 No Poll Changes After Light Slate of Games The weekly foothillpreps.com's JV and frosh football polls stayed pretty much close to the vest with only four games being played last weekend. At the JV level, Colfax played on an unusual Thursday night but the change of schedule had no big effect on the Falcons as they rolled past Wheatland, 31-0. Colfax is now 4-1 on the season. Placer's JVs captured their second straight win with a 21-13 win over El Dorado. Todd Valliere ran for one score and tossed a touchdown pass for another. Austin LaBleu, meanwhile, added another score and also intercepted a pair of passes. In Frosh games, Nevada Union bounced back from a loss to Yuba City by outgunnining Pioneer of Woodland, 41-36, in a shootout. For the Miners, now 4-1, Mo Nieves rushed for over 150 yards and scored four TDs, Jordan Jiannino threw a 70 yard scoring pass to Jess Sutton, Trevor Humphreys converted six of seven PATs for the Miners and Enzo Arata and Nick McFall each had fumble recoveries. NU opens Sierra Foothill League play Thursday at Granite Bay. In other frosh games, Placer fullback Cole Blackwell went over the 300-yard rushing mark once again in a 69-26 romp last Thursday over El Dorado.Blackwell, who scored six touchdowns two weeks ago against Woodland, added six more against El Dorado. Logan Markstein added 107 more rushing yards for the Hillmen who play at Bear River Thursday in the Pioneer Valley League opener for bothh teams. Colfax's freshman also stayed on the win track as they ventured to Galt and returned home with a 26-6 win. Now 5-0 on the season, Colfax's frosh return to Galt Thursday to battle Liberty Ranch.
