7th Grade Lady Rattlers Finish 14-1

The Magnolia Lady Rattlers 7th grade girls basketball team captured the Nevada County Athletic League tTournament championship by defeating the Union Hill Bearcats 39-10.

Playing at Bear River High School, the Rattlers were lead by Summer Brown's 18 points and Rebecca Solomon's 12. Ashley Albee tossed in 6 points and Alyssa Pulkinghorn had 3. Grace Sypnicki, Kaity Nat, and Kayley Szabo played well on defense. The Rattlers, who were regular season co-champs with Pleasant Valley, finished 14-1 on the season.

In the semi-final round, the Lady Rattlers rolled past Seven Hills with a 32-3 win. Ashley Albee led all scorers with 12 points and Becca Solomon was a force with 8 points. Defensive standouts were Grace Sypnicki, Alyssa Pulkinghorn and Solomon. Summer Brown controlled the boards.

Magnolia had opend the tournament with a 32-8 victory over Forest Lake Christian. Ashley Albee played outstanding defense and also led the offense with 12 points. Summer Brown was a strong presence at the post scoring 10 points and controlling the boards.
