Union Hills, 7 Hills Move To Semis

Union Hill's Bearcats and Seven Hills' Raiders both won opening round Nevada County Athletic League 7th grade tournament games Thursday afternoon at Union Hill.

The Bearcats and Raiders now have filled out the semi-final round pairings today at Nevada Union's Ali Gymnasium.

Seven Hills, a 29-23 winner over Magnolia, will play Weimar Hills, the No. 1 seed, at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, Union Hill, the No. 2 seed, will test No. 3 seed Forest Lake Christian in the 6:15 game.

In Thursday's action, Union Hill raced past Pleasant Valley, 50-25. A total of ten different players scored in the win for the Bearcats.

Leading in the statistical department were Nathan Selleck with eight points and four steals and Kyle McCombs with 13 points and six rebounds.

Austin Latter added six points for the winners while Jake Berger and Logan Gardner dished out five and four assists respectively.

In a low-scoring game, Seven Hills and Magnolia were tied 12-12 at halftime before the Raiders were able to seperate in the fourth quarter for the win.

Seven Hills coach Steve Belch singled out the play of Garrett O'Callaghan and Chandler Heppe has keys to the Raiders' win.
