NCAL Flag Football: St. Mary’s Blanks Gilmore

Mount St. Mary’s flag football team made it two straight wins by defeating the Gilmore 7th grade team, 42-0 Tuesday in Nevada County Athletic League action.

Leading the way for the Eagles was the strong defensive work of Allie Lima (3 sacks) and teammate Dominic Guiliani (4 sacks).

Mt. St. Mary’s travels to Lake Wildwood today to meet Pleasant Valley in a 4 p.m. game.

Magnolia 34 Pleasant Valley 8 – The combination 7-8th grade team of Pleasant Valley couldn’t keep up with the Rattlers who punched in three early scores and rolled from there.

The Vikings did play a strong second half and had several bright spots including quarterbacks Weston Messer and Clay Coon who teamed to complete seven passes for 56 yards to receivers Mark Beauchamp, Jimmy Fowler, Brandon Fouse, Jakob Freele and Messer.

Beauchamp ended up as the leading receiver with two catches for 34 yards while Messer rambled for 73 yards on 13 carries and added a touchdown and two-point conversion.
