7 Hills Follow O'Conner, Paye To Win

Seven Hills' 8th grade girls basketball team followed a 12-point effort from Christine O'Conner and 11 more from Grace Paye to race past Pleasant Valley, 40-12, Tuesday in Nevada County Athletic League action at Lake Wildwood.

Seven Hills coach Ken Arbaugh cited his team for a good, all-around effort on defense as a key to the win.

In other action:

8th Grade

Magnolia 40 Forest Lake 31 - Taylor Autry sank 14 points and Michelle Whiting and Malone Pearson chipped in with nine and eight points respectively to lead the Rattlers (2-0) past the Falcons.

Olivia Peterson also scored four points for the winners while Kaila Ponce delivered the hustle and defense.

Weimar Hills 24 Gilmore 13 - Trailing 14-13 at the intermission, the Warriors turned up their defensive pressure and held the Bombers scoreless over the final two quarters.

Brooklyn Pitz' 12 points sparked Weimar's (2-1) offense while Vanessa Braum added four points and good defense.

7th Grade

Magnolia over FLC - Caite Breazeale's 19 points and 10 from Savannah Wirth keyed the Rattlers' (1-1) win over Forest Lake Christian.

Kaeley Rath also hit for 6 points for the Rattlers who play at Gilmore today.

Weimar Hills 34 Gilmore 15 - The homestanding Warriors led 24-2 at halftime beofre easing home for the win. Good offense from Shantel Crane, Olivia Naves and Jessie Fahrney sparked the Warriors (3-0).
