NCAL Girls Basketball Tips Off

Action in the Nevada County Athletic League girls basketball season got underway Tuesday with games played across Grass Valley, Nevada City and Meadow Vista.

Here are results from reported games:

8th Grade

Weimar Hills 40 Pleasant Valley 12 at Sierra Hills- Weimar Hills followed a nice all-around game from Mickaela Balser and solid team defense to derail the Vikings.

7th Grade

Magnolia 24 Gilmore 22 at Gilmore - In a tight contest matching two evenly paired squads, Magnolia used a big 12 point, big rebound gamefromSummer Brown to eke past the Bombers.  Becca Soloman and Ashley Albee rounded out the scoring with six points each while Grace Sypnicki played excellent defense.

Pleasant Valley 40 Weimar Hills 14 - A fast breaking Pleasant Valley squad overwhelmed the host Warriors. Top scorer for Weimar Hills was Claire Wegener with 11 points.
