Magnolia Takes Two From Weimar Hills

In a Nevada County Athletic League girls basketball doubleheader at Sierra Hills Schoolin Meadow Vista Tuesday, visiting Magnolia swept a doubleheader from the host Lady Warriors.

IIn the 8th grade game, Magnolia used a strong second half to break open aclose game and notch a 33-24 win.

Meanwhile, in the 7th grade contest, The 7th Grade Magnolia Lady Rattlers moved to 3-0 on the young season with a 22-3 victory over the Weimar Hills Indians.

The Rattlers were led by a stingy team defense that held the Indians scoreless after 3 quarters. The offense was led by Summer Brown with 9 points.

Ashley Albee and Alyssa Pulkinghorn each had 4points. Becca Solomon tossed in 3 points, and Kayley Szabo rounded out scoring with 2 points.

In an earlier 7th grade contest, Magnolia Lady Rattlers handed Union Hill a 26-11 defeat at the Bearcat's gym. Rebecca Solomon and Alyssa Pulkinghorn led all scorers with 10 points apiece. Ashley Albee tossed in 4 points and Grace Sypnicki rounded out scoring with 2 points.

Seven Hills 8th grade 28 Pleasant Valley 6 - The Raiders got their first win of the season off a solid performance from Mairi Jo Jones and Olivia Perata who each scored six points.

Seven Hills relied on intense pressure defense from Cassidy Balzer, Jessica Preece, Audrey Jacus, and Delilah Giblin. Bailey Kennedy and Jaycee Hopkins led the Raiders in rebounds.
