NCAL Roundup: WH Sweeps Finales at Seven Hills

Teams started tuning up for this week’s Nevada County Athletic League season-ending tournaments Tuesday afternoon has final league games went into the books.

At Nevada City, Weimar Hills ventured from the Colfax area through inclement weather and left Seven Hills with a sweep of the Raiders.

In the 8th grade game, in a match-up of two teams that went 1-2 in the final NCAL standings, Weimar rallied from a 10-point second quarter deficit to pull out a 51-46 win over the regular season champion Raiders.

Will Buell’s 17 points and 10 each from Ryan Glazner and Matt Larson fueled Weimar’s win. Devon Loomis and Paul Ramseth both added five points apiece and Austin Mulderrig added four for the winners who knocked down 12 of 19 free throws in the game.

Weimar Hills finished 9-3 in NCAL play and is now 22-5 overall on the season.

Seven Hills, which will enter the large school tournament with a bye and owners of a 10-2 league mark, received 10 points each from Dalton McClure, Lenny Kirshbaum and Sean Zuccaro.

Weimar Hills 7th 38 Seven Hills 20 – Weimar capped off an 11-1 NCAL campaign by pushing out to a 20-12 halftime lead and maintaining it the rest of the way.

Jack Baldoni’s 14 points, six from Chris Harshman and five each from Blake Rawlings and Cole Joyce sparked the Warriors (20-7). Jake Logan, Kevin Zachman, Jordan Balser and Preston Tuttle all sank two points each for Weimar.

For Seven Hills, Luke Vojak, Connor Hayes, and Sean Anderson all scored four points each while Max Jacus, Chandler Heppe, Garrett O’Callaghan and D.C. Conger all added two points each
