NCAL Tourney Tips Off Today
Action in the Nevada County Athletic League season ending boys basketball tournaments tips off play today with a doubleheader set for Forest Lake Christian’s Gym at Lake of the Pines.
Today’s games will kick-off the start of four consecutive non-stop days of action set for the area’s large and small school divisional tournaments.
The tourney will culminate with games Friday and Saturday at Nevada Union’s Ali and West gymnasiums.
Today’s doubleheader at FLC tips off with Weimar Hills, the No. 2 8th grade large school seed, testing Forest Lake, the large school No. 7 seed at 4 p.m.
In the second game, host Forest Lake’s 7th grade team, the large school No. 3 seed, takes on Gilmore, the No. 6 seed at 5:15 p.m.
A full slate of games then will be played on Thursday with Gilmore hosting an 8th grade doubleheader while 7th grade action will be played at Union Hill.
Semi-final play then shifts to Nevada Union on Friday followed by a full slate of games on Saturday which will be capped by the large school 7th grade championship game at 5 p.m., the small school championship game at 6 p.m. and the 8th grade large school final at 7 p.m.
