Golden Eagles Flying High After Clovis West Wins

Both Del Oro lower level football squads - following tough road wins at Clovis West in Fresno last weekend - maintained their top positions in the foothillpreps.com's grid polls.

Both Del Oro teams will play at Oak Ridge in what usually shapes up has a good non-league matchup. In other action Placer hosts Casa Roble with the frosh playing Thursday and the JVs going Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Here's this week's rankings:

JV

1. 1.Del Oro (2-0) - In a battle of Eagles, DO prevailed over Clovis West, 28-14.

2. Nevada Union (2-1) - Impressive 47-0 thrashing of Monterey Trail moves Miners up. This week Chico visits Hooper Stadium.

3. Bear River (3-0) - Bruins are still perfect but figure to get challenged Friday at undefeated Woodcreek.

4. P lacer (1-0-1) - Coming off a bye, Hillmen hope not to overlook Casa.

5.Colfax (1-2) - One-two running punch of Austin Perry and Henry Freer scored TDs in win at Union Mine.

Frosh

              1.Del Oro (2-0) - Unfazed by losing three best players to JV squad, Golden Eagles went out and handled Clovis West.

             2.Colfax (2-1) -  .Falcons tossed 28-0 road shutout at Union Mine.

             3.NU (1-2) - Miners looked improved despite loss at Lincoln of Stockton.

             4. Placer (1-1) - Hillmen surprised at home by Sutter's Huskies.

           5.Bear River (1-2) - Bruins caged by El Camino, face tough Woodcreek squad Thursday.
