PV Giants Have Fine Season

The Penn Valley Giants Jr. division team had a fine 2009 campaign as they posted a record of 15-4 and went 1-1 in recent District 11 Tournament of Champions play. The Giants defeated the Tri-City A's, 10-0, in their opener with Jared Cook and Tanner Vallejo combining on a three-hit shutout which included 10 strikeouts. The Giants, however, were eliminated in a close game to the Grass Valley Yankees, 11-10.
