Key Hitting Ignites PV Dodgers

The Penn Valley Dodgers over came an early lead by the PV Giants to defeat their league rivals 14-4.

After holding the Dodgers with the bases loaded in the 1st inning the Giants jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in their haft on singles by Lucas Kerley and Josh Blyth.

The Dodgers picked up one run in the 2nd and added three more in 3rd inning. Weston Gaddis and Dalton Maxwell both singled, followed by Joseph Ten Eyck's double to score both runs. Benny Gemetti's line single scored Ten Eyck.

Dodgers scored five more in the 4th on singles by Keaton Richards, Justin Glidden, Maxwell, and a double by Clayton Sorensen.

Giants added one in the 4th on singles by Wyatt Dale and Johnny Pavlik.

Dodgers tacked on one run in the 5th on a long double by Gemetti and a single by Steve McClenthen.

In the top of the 6th inning, the Dodgers blew the game open. Glidden led off with a walk followed by a Sorensen single and a walk by Gaddis to load the bases. Maxwell hit the first pitch down the left field line for a bases clearing triple.

Edwin Dardon then lined a single to score Maxwell. In the bottom of the 6th inning , the Giants hit into a 4-6-3 ( Gaddis to Maxwell to Ten Eyck) double play to end the game.

Dodgers pitchers were Joseph Ten Eyck , 1 inning with 3 runs allowed, Winning Pitcher Clayton Sorensen, 2 innings with three strikeouts, Weston Gaddis, 2 innings, 1 run with one strikeout and Orion Clark , 1 inning with one strikeout.
