The Rocklin Orioles left little doubt last Saturday night in Auburn on just who was the powerhouse majors division team in District 11 this season. Flexing their offensive muscles for the second straight game and receiving a fine pitching effort from hard throwing lefthander Jake Faulkner, the Orioles rolled past the Bear River Giants, 12-1, to capture the District 11 Tournament of Champions title. The win came in Game Two of the District 11 championship series and gave the Orioles a final season won-loss record of 21-3. The Orioles had broken open a close game to win Game One on Friday by a 13-4 count. The Bear River Giants, the Area II TOC champion, plated their lone run in Saturday’s game via a home run by Jake DePass. The Giants capped their year with a mark of 21-4. |
