Jamboree Action at NU Saturday

Football kicks off in a big way this Saturday for area youth teams as Nevada Union High's Hooper Stadium will host one jamboree location of the Sierra Youth Football & Cheer Association.

The day long event at NU will get going with jamboree action at 9:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

Local teams Bear River and Nevada Union will field squads in the Mighty Mite, Jr. Peewees, Peewees, Jr. Midgets and Midget divisions.

Also competing Saturday at NU will be teams from American River, Lincoln and Roseville.

The official SYFC seasons kicks off Aug. 21 when Bear River travels to Placer and Nevada Union plays at Lincoln.
