SYFC Jamborees Set For Saturday
With the start of the regular season just a week away, Sierra Youth Football Conference teams will converge on four sites this Saturday for jamboree action to help prepare for the Aug. 30 opening weekend of play.
Granite Bay, Lincoln, Oakmont and Roseville high schools will all be sites for jamboree action which will match teams in 20-minute scrimmages and run all day long.
At Granite Bay, the Jr. Grizzlies will host Bear River, Antelope and Folsom.
Meanwhile, in the jamboree at Lincoln, the Jr. Zebras will entertain Del Oro, Nevada Union and Rocklin.
Oakmont will have the Jr. Vikings playing host to Natomas, Placer and Woodcreek while the Roseville Jr. Tigers will roll out the red carpet for American River, Oak Ridge and Whitney.
Granite Bay’s starting times are 9 a.m. for midgets, 10:30 for Jr. Midgets, 11:40 for Peewees, 1 p.m. for Jr. Peewees and 2 p.m. for Mighty Mites.
The starting times at the Lincoln, Oakmont and Roseville sites will be 10 a.m. for Midgets, 11:30 for Jr. Midgets, 12:40 for Peewees, 2 p.m. for Jr. Peewees and 3:15 for Mighty Mites.
In opening SYFC games on Sat. Aug. 30, the Placer Jr. Hillmen will play at the American River Raiders, Nevada Union’s Jr. Miners will host Oakmont and Bear River will entertain Del Oro.
