Seven Hills 8th grade girls catching fire

The Seven Hills Lady Raiders from Nevada City are the hottest team in the Nevada County Athletic League girls basketball chase right now.

Fresh off a dominating win over previously undefeated Magnolia last week, Seven Hills stayed on their hot streak Tuesday by fashioning a 31-25 win at Union Hill.

“Union Hill played a good game but we were able to overcome some foul trouble and pull it out,” said Seven Hills coach Steve Belch about the victory.

High scorer for the Lady Raiders was Brittney Graves with 16 points.

The win for Seven Hills followed up a 48-22 romp past Magnolia last week in the Rattlers’ gym no less. In that victory, Jennah Britton sank 15 points and Theresa Anderson scored 14.

Seven Hills is now 5-1 in 8th grade league play. The Lady Raiders will host Weimar Hills Thursday in a key game at Nevada City starting at 4 p.m.
