St. Mary's, Magnolia Take Hoop Wins

The St. Mary's girls basketball team pushed its record to 4-1 on the season with a win on Tuesday over Chicago Park. The St. Mary's defense dominated the court for most of the game as key steals from Emily O'Neill created several easy hoops for the Eagles.

On the defensive end, Jessica Seivert and Grace Gulsvig were strong rebounders.

Magnolia 7th 29 Union Hill 4 - Magnolia's Lady Rattlers 7th grade squad improved their record to 8-0 by beating the Union Hill Bearcats 29-4 in their second half match up.

Ashley Albee led all scorers with 16 points and played tough defense leading the team in steals. Summer Brown tossed in 10 points and led the team in rebounds. The Rattlers play Pleasant Valley tomorrow at Pleasant Valley School.

IIn an earlier contest, Magnolia registered a 25-14 home win over the Lyman Gilmore Bombers. Becca Solomon and Summer Brown led all scorers with 8 points apiece while also leading the team in rebounds.. Alyssa Pulkinghorn tossed in 6 points. Defense was led by Grace Sypnicki, Kaity Nat, and Ashley Albee who also had 3 points.
