Weimar Hills, Magnolia Split NCAL Hoop Games

Weimar Hills and Magnolia hooked up in a Nevada County Athletic League girls basketball doubleheader Monday at Sierra Hills School in Meadow Vista.

In the 7th grade game, Weimar Hills squeezed out a 36-31 win as Kylie Kirkland sank 13 points and teammates Raegan Lillie and Lindsey Biles both added eight points apiece.

Weimar also received a strong defensive outing from Maddison Ittner who played a good game in the middle of a physical contest.

Magnolia’s standouts included center Teryn Rath who pushed through 15 points and grabbed four rebounds; Sam Scagilone who tallied six points and snared eight rebounds; point-guard Lauren Runte who added five more points and excellent play off the bench from Michelle Taylor and Mariah Valasquez.

In the 8th grade game, Magnolia stayed undefeated on the season by notching a 25-20 win over the Lady Warriors.

Nine of Magnolia’s 12 players scored in the contest led by Sarah Hagar’s six points and four from Sara Schell. Providing good defense and floor play for the winners were Arianna Jensen and Cindy Solomon.
